Medicinal Ingredient:
Clotrimazole 1% w/w.
Non-Medicinal Ingredients:
Benzyl alcohol, cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl esters wax, octyldodecanol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan monostearate, water.
Cleanse skin with soap and water and dry thoroughly. Rub a thin layer on the affected area twice daily. After symptoms have disappeared continue treatment for a week or two to a maximum of 4 weeks in total. Jock itch and ringworm usually require 2 weeks to resolve, while athlete's foot may require 4 weeks.
If there has been no improvement after 2 weeks of treatment, or if signs and symptoms of the infection have not been resolved after 4 weeks, consult a doctor. For an athlete's foot, pay special attention to the spaces between the toes. Wear well-fitting, ventilated shoes and cotton socks.
For external use only. Should not use for scalp or nail infections. Do not use on children under 2 years of age or if pregnant or nursing unless recommended by a doctor. Do not use Canesten if you are allergic to clotrimazole or to any non-medicinal ingredients in Canesten.
Avoid contact with eyes; if this happens rinse thoroughly with water. If new irritation occurs consult a doctor. Keep safely out of reach of children. Canesten may reduce the effectiveness of some birth control methods such as condoms, diaphragms or vaginal spermicides. This effect is only temporary and occurs only during treatment.
