Polysporin drops help treat infections of the external ear, such as:
Medicinal Ingredients:
Polymyxin B as sulfate (10,000 units per mL), lidocaine hydrochloride (50 mg per mL).
Non-Medicinal Ingredients:
Cupric sulfate, hydrochloric acid, propylene glycol, water.
Instill three to four drops in the affected ear or ears, four times a day for five to seven days. You should avoid getting water in the ear until the treatment is complete. You should begin to see an improvement in your symptoms within one to two days. Even though the symptoms of the infection may be relieved within one to two days, you should use POLYSPORIN® Plus Pain Relief Ear Drops for five to seven days to completely cure the infection.
If there is no improvement in your symptoms within two days of starting treatment, or if they have not disappeared within seven days, you should consult your doctor, as you may not have a swimmer’s ear.
