Minoxidil Sulfate is an active metabolite which has been shown in studies to stimulate hair growth. It has been the number one topical therapy for Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) since receiving FDA clearance in the US in 1988.
Formula 82M contains (5%) Minoxidil and Retinoic Acid, along with a topical steroid to improve efficacy and reduce irritation, complimented by other proprietary ingredients that improve the formula’s overall effectiveness, stability and usability.
Proposed mechanisms of action for Minoxidil:
Finasteride is a 5α-reductase inhibitor that works by decreasing the production of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in tissues in the scalp. It has been approved as a treatment for Androgenetic Alopecia, also known as male pattern baldness, for men in the US since 1997 and in Canada since 1998.
Formula 82F contains (5%) Minoxidil and (.25%) Finasteride along with a topical steroid to improve efficacy and reduce irritation, complimented by other proprietary ingredients that improve the formula’s overall effectiveness, stability and usability.
Dutasteride is a 5α-reductase inhibitor that works by decreasing the production of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in tissues in the scalp. It acts on both the Type I and Type II 5α-reductase enzymes, and is markedly more efficacious than Finasteride in the inhibition of DHT.
Formula 82D contains (5%) Minoxidil and (.75%) Dutasteride along with a topical steroid and a retinoic acid to improve efficacy and reduce irritation, complemented by other proprietary ingredients that improve the formulas’ overall effectiveness, stability and usability. 82D uses a proprietary non-sticky, non-greasy, Propylene Glycol-free base, that patients report dramatically reduces the irritation and hair management issues they encounter with other Minoxidil and Dutasteride preparations.
